Gosport Church on Star Island
The town of Gosport was established in 1715 on Star Island, one of the islands which make up the Isles of Shoals off the New Hampshire coast. It was incorporated as part of Rye, New Hampshire.
This church which stands on the highest point of the island was built in 1800 as a meetinghouse for settlers and is still in use today as part of programs run by the Unitarian/Universalist Church which currently owns Star Island.
