Highlights of the 43rd International Submariners Congress

The 43rd International Submariners Congress was held in Moscow, Russian Federation from May 22 - 25 and an informal Meeting of International Submariners was held in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation from May 26 - 28. A total of 18 nations were represented in Moscow with 300 total attendees. The Moscow program included:

• A tour of the Moscow Kremlin
• A special submariners memorial service at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior
• A spectacular evening of international singing and dancing entertainment
• A special ceremony at the Central Museum to the Great Patriotic War
• Dedication of the new submarine museum, a Project 641B (NATO Tango class) submarine

The St. Petersburg program included:

• A cruise to Kronshtadt aboard the "Zaphir", a catamaran cruise boat with lunch aboard
• Visit and tour of the Central Naval Museum
• Visit and tour of the cruiser "Aurora"
• Visit to and lunch with cadets of the Nakhimov Naval College next to the "Aurora"
• Dinner cruise on the river cruise ship "Gatchina"
• Tour of the Seraphimovskoye Memorial Cemetery and special military honors memorial service at the "Kursk" memorial there
• Prayer service for lost submariners at the St. Nicholas Cathedral
