The
mezzanine area of the Charles River Museum of Industry depicts primarily
the watchmaking industry of Waltham. A large mural on the wall shows the
Waltham Watch factory as it existed at the beginning of the century. Numerous
displays of early watchmaking machinery and tools are here as well as examples
of some of the watches, watch parts and other precision instruments.
The red dots on the diagram to the right represent vantage points from which QuicktimeŽ VR panoramas were photographed. To view the exhibit from one of these vantage points, click on the respective red dot. The above panoramic "thumbnail" image represents the center vantage point.
Current photos of the Waltham Watch factory building show that the exterior appearance has changed little from the early days.
